Patan Villages Wake up to Dr. Kalsaria's Clarion Call

The first rally under the leadership of Dr. Kanu Kalsaria, which was flagged off from village Jangral, district Patan, has already created social and political ripples in this otherwise quiet constituency of North Gujarat. Dr. Kanu Kalsaria was invited by me in this region as it is acutely affected by the ills resulting from improper land and water management. All round industrial development or the hollow cacophony of this environmentally damaging governmental hysteria has further drained the precious resources of the district. The blatant example of window dressing was provided by the Minister Ms Anandi Patel by temporarily filling up the lake at Patan by diverting water from 'Sujalam Sufalam' scheme. Once the political purpose was served the canals were left to lie dry as ever. Due to such neglect the tanks and canals of the region wear deserted look and there is not a drop of water to be found. The city of Patan and its surrounding are all the time enveloped under the blanket of dust. The city is truly 'Gardabad' or the 'City of Dust'. But nobody cares. Public apathy further complicates the matters. In such a scenario, Dr. Kalsaria's visit has given a 'Wake-up Call' to the villagers. His simple but most touching speeches has touched the hearts of village-folk. Though this was first such visit by Dr. Kalsaria, it has induced the social and political churning that may well begin a new chapter in district's political history.
