India that is also Bharat

The India is also Bharat, a sad truth that we realize when we come face to face with the realities of Public Health and Public Education, the two most essential factors to build the standard of living of any person in a society.

Today's TOI has brought to fore the sad truth of the unhealthy practice adopted by the colleges when it comes to appointing the teachers. They do not appoint the teachers on the regular post instead they hire them on contract. The modus operandi is most prevalent and the government is also not unaware but as it happens in several other sectors, the sharks of the field can make the authority turn blind eye to the malpractice.

It is well known that every third teacher is on the contract basis and is thus drawing pittance as salary.

The anomaly is that in the same college there are teachers who may draw salary close to six digits there are teachers who are paid between Rs. 2500 to Rs. 5000. Imagine the mental agony or humiliation such discrimination brings to the persons who are under paid. Also imagine that they are the persons who shape our nation's tomorrow. And we are debating about India becoming Regional Power. Well, it may be possible only if Bharat does not lag behind.

Waking up to Constitutional Impasse

Government has in earnest rushed with the intervention by the Supreme Court in the matter of CBI.

The figure given by AG is mind blowing. There are 1000 cases being investigated by CBI and 9000 at various stages of legal contest at present.

The institution (?) is definitely in deep waters.

War of Words in Chhatisgarh and Uttar Pradesh

I am sure most of the readers are getting sick of the 'War of Words' that is being waged in Chattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh. As the date of election approaches the acrimony is getting sharper. But yesterday's statements by both the lead contenders is plunging this battle at its worse depth.

Modi has alleged that he is fighting against CBI and the IM (Indian Mujahideen). Whereas Rahul has said that there is no one to listen to the poor. If the statement of Modi is maligning CBI unfortunately it is also equating IM and CBI because if the CBI and IM both are pitted against him the agenda of CBI and IM is alleged to be common. Now isn't that going too far. But, in Indian politics, who cares.

On the other hand when Rahul says that no one listens to the poor , it reflect very badly on his own party because after all, he and his party are heading the nation. Thus, particular states are not heeding to the national program, the national government cannot escape the blame.

Witnessing this acrimonious, no hold bar battle, one may only wonder, how far they will go?
